Another quiet day. Last night was the official halfway point of our vacation. Having done a lot of the things we wanted , (but still having some left to do), we find ourselves just relaxing and enjoying the beach, the pool, our view,

and this little community. Today we went to church again. Our friend Donne was there (with his new soccer ball of course) and when the children left for Sunday School, he and Samuel sat together and colored bible pictures. Then all the kids played soccer using Donne’s ball. He thinks he is something with the nicest soccer ball in town.

Sarah met a new friend too, the daughter of a couple who help start new churches in Costa Rica. They enjoyed running and playing after Church School was over.

I posted 4 short critter videos on thepovies You Tube channel. It is pouring rain so Ican’t access the individual addresses right now (with dial-up), but if you Google You Tube thepovies it will lead you right to them.

After church we went to our favorite beach, Hermosa, and had a picnic lunch.. Dozens of Costa Ricans were enjoying the last day of their summer break. It’s kind of like our Labor Day. Sarah and Samuel built sandcastles with about ten other kids,

and Amy and I enjoyed watching the beautiful green-shaded water at dead low tide.

Next we drove around the back streets of Uvita and came upon a street fair put on by the local school and church. We found this ride packed up on a truck.

We were kind of glad we didn’t take the kids on any rides.

The rain looked imminent so we headed home for dinner.

The power is out now so I am hoping the computer battery will last a little longer. Amy and the kids are reading by candlelight and trying to stay cool without AC. This week we are going to one of te biggest and best National Parks. Manuel Antonio is supposed to offer some of the most beautiful scenery in CR, with white sand beaches, hiking trails, and abundant flora and fauna. We’ll also return to Dominical again. Maybe some good surfing videos will result.

That’s all today. Please leave a comment, especially all you “lurkers”. We know you are out there!
